Oddly Shaped Pixels is a one-man indie game studio bringing pixelated (sometimes not that much) cool games to the world.
HistoryThe game jams era
The story of Oddly Shaped Pixels started when Renaud, its funder, participated in his first game jam, the Cyberpunk Jam of 2014. After finishing 4th and having a blast creating a whole game on his own, he then decided to spend his free time creating games and participating to all the game jams he could. Mostly alone but sometimes helped by some game dev friends, he produced a dozen of games during the next couple of years, ranging from 2D platformers to 3D first person adventure games.Commercial games
One of Oddly Shaped Pixels first prototypes was a small brawler called Super Rocket Shootout that was showcased numerous times in local events. After winning the Best Indie Game prize at the Madrid Games Week in 2014, it was decided to bring the prototype to a full commercial game. After a one year and half parenthesis dedicated to a (sadly) cancelled project in collaboration with Deconstructeam and 11 Bits Studios, Oddly Shaped Pixels retook the development of Super Rocket Shootout so as to release its first commercial game during Summer 2017.
